  1. Welp it looks like I’ve lost some subscribers because of this video….and I just posted it! I guess people didn’t like some of my book suggestions 😭 Was it the mention of Hoodoo, was it because I said it’s closed practice? Or was it because the books are by black authors 🤔

    What do y’all think????

Please do my a favor and LIKE 👍🏾 this video so it can reach those who value this information ❤

  2. Herbs is fine sis but hoodoo is a diety folklore and witch craft do your research deeper I have read about enslaved women talk about herbs and health and healing not once did they mention hoodoo dig deeper sis
    You dealing with oral tradition

  3. I have Working The Roots & it is very WELL put together & a wealth of knowledge and BLACK history & culture!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!
I'd like to purchase the other 2 books covered here. I'm willing to UNlearn & be DEprogrammed!😉 …
Research proves that Colonizers feared our culture so they demonized & stripped it. It worked!! Strategic oppression, ex: Willie Lynch Letter. Look it up!
    Also…
I would also like to STRONGLY recommend "We Are Each Other's Harvest" by Natalie Baszile (Queen Sugar Author) and "Farming While Black" by Leah Penniman. I think these 3 books should be in the hands of EVERY Black child!!

  4. 😂😂. I can't stop stop laughing at the not ending well for the others.😂😂 And you chuckled when you said. I LOVE IT. HEY, you're just trying to be honest. Who cares if they get mad whoever they were. I just found this channel. I've definitely subscribed and looking forward to the classes. KEEP GOING

  5. This was a great video. I read Jambalaya by Louisa teish years ago. I've lost my sight since then so I miss rereading it. I need to find a way to get the book read on audio. I think i'll check out your up coming class. I need to learn more about how my folk used herbs back in the day up until now. Thanks again for this. You have a new subscriber.

  6. Immediately added Working the Roots to my Ebay cart❤. Thank you I have been searching for this exact topic for a while. Subscribed and can’t wait to learn more from you

  7. Just subscribed as I follow on other platforms as well. I want to verify is African American Slave medicine iby a black author because when I’m trying to search I can’t find that information. I have this on my want list but only want it if it’s by a black author.

  8. Everyone should also have general knowledge about way to use the natural world to heal different ailments becuase we are well aware that the medical system is driven by profit. I've always leaned heavy towards natural remedies and the beauty of them is learning thru trial and error which ones work. Nothing is full proof as our bodies are different but it never hurts to try.
