Your Brain Hallucinates Your Conscious Reality | Anil Seth |

Right now, billions of neurons in your brain are working together to generate a conscious experience — and not just any conscious experience, your experience of the world around you and of yourself within it. How does this happen? According to neuroscientist Anil Seth, we’re all hallucinating all the time; when we agree about our hallucinations, we call it “reality.” Join Seth for a delightfully disorienting talk that may leave you questioning the very nature of your existence.

  1. You know there are scientists who say the brain imagines everything, then there are scientists who say the brain is itself imagined, some say that everything is consciousness some say we don't have any idea what consciousness actually is… and stuff like that. Bla bla bla… you know, the more I hear all of those different opinions I just get that we basically don't know as much about anything as we think we do lol

  2. So where did the initial mention of anestehesia go ? If anesthetics can turn off consciousness, wouldn't they have some more to say about how it is sustined, or even how it arises ?

  4. All we do is imagination all the time. So when we derive something out of this imagination as a utility or service we value it. Otherwise we call it plain imagination and a waste of time. It's all silly and we can't get out of this imagination however hard we try
