NDE : His Heart Stopped for 15 Minutes—Here’s What He Felt

David Maginley shares a powerful near-death experience that occurred during a medical emergency in a hospital, where his heart stopped and he found himself in a profoundly peaceful and expansive state of consciousness. He describes being in a vivid, serene landscape with a guiding presence who conveyed deep insights about love, purpose, and the interconnected nature of life. Through this experience, David reflects on themes of spirituality, the illusion of separation, and the importance of living with compassion, explaining how the encounter transformed his understanding of God, consciousness, and what it truly means to be human.

  1. Hospice nurses Maggie Callanan and Patricia Kelley have documented the case of a 93-year-old Chinese woman dying of cancer who had recurrent visions of her deceased husband calling her to join him. One day, much to her puzzlement, she saw her sister with her husband, and both of them were calling her to join them. She told the hospice nurse that her sister was still alive in China, and that she hadn’t seen her for many years. When the hospice nurse later reported this conversation to the woman’s daughter, the daughter stated that the patient’s sister had in fact died two days earlier of the same kind of cancer, but that the family had decided not to tell the patient to avoid upsetting or frightening her. When her daughter then told the patient about her sister’s illness and death, she relaxed, the puzzle solved, and she died at peace shortly thereafter.

  2. I love the long responses everybody is giving! ❤

"Is God a man sitting on a throne?"
    – "No he's love and light"

I commend you for still checking this. You still give credence to the possibility. Both options can exist. And this is a Pastor no less.

"I don't care about your belief, I care about how you love and live love".

"Did I say something inspiring? Oh… I already forgot"

"Connect with me? Connect with the people that inspire me"

So humble, authentic, approachable, loving. Who was it that said: "while you are channeling, time slows down"? Look at him! He has aged, but he hasn't.

I was falling asleep to this. I'll listen again.

Great interview, thanks for your co-creation!

  3. 22:59 Sad that MEN call bleeding women unclean when they don’t realize that this blood is the secret to curing diseases and gives life. Plus, men are the ones who are unclean… have you ever seen men’s underwater?!

  4. Agree about euthanasia- many say they don’t want their families to have to help the as the die since they don’t want to be a “burden” but they are denying them the gift of being able to love and serve the one the love in this way. Helping my dad through his cancer and death was the biggest blessing to me and my daughter and the love I felt for him was beyond anything I had felt for him before this. ❤. Also I don’t think any soul had a “mission” to commit suicide here. It’s an act of fear not love when you dig deep. That said of course they won’t be judged on the other side but I’m sure they would be disappointed in them self and then want to come back to try again to overcome that fear.

  5. death feels like someone shoving an armadillo in your underpants and then swatting it with a pool noodle to piss it off and it starts screaming and running in circles and biting and you poop yourself.. or something.

  6. He is the Almighty God, not a Source. The sun is a source of daylight and the moon is the source of the night’s glow. God is more than a source. I know you mean it in goodwill but that is the word non believer like to use. Because he’s just another source like the sun and the moon

  7. Laurie, I don't know if you have ever interviewed Jonathan Ashford, but I just recently heard him speak and that was probably the best nde story I've ever heard! Very hopeful and inspiritional, just a real feel good story. Would love to see him on your show, thanks

  8. Coming from someone who experienced relentless pain off the richter scale for days, weeks, months, years. I totally disagree with this nice well meaning man entirely. When there is nothing but endless torture and pain theres nothing spiritual about it. I wouldnt let a dog go through almost endless torture, nor a human being. Theres no life in endless HORRIFYING torture of crucifying pain. Im talking every millisecond Guillian Barre electric shocks throughout the body and every cell and nerve in your body being on fire and experiencing a pressure like 10000 pounds of pressure and you are constantly exploding, every sound and light particle rippling pain throughout you, even the act of thinking without speaking sending pain, spasms and paralysis, constant rocking of vertigo and drop fits), loud ringing of tinnitus that you can never escape from, no sleep unless drugged, and then nightmares of the most horrifying nature… thank goodness for euthanasia for humans. There is such a thing as a living hell here on earth. And nothing 'transformative' or 'preparing for the death process' about it. Just the realisation that cruelty and torture exists and you experience nothing else but it because death is never graced upon you. I dare non euthanasia believers to request this type of torture over prolonged time (seconds, hours, days, weeks, months, year after year(s)), then come back to me and tell me that they are anti euthanasia, and that suffering is 'transformative' and ' a preparation spiritually for death' when for a proportion of people it may be, but God almighty, for a great number of humans, its not. And tell me they dodnt scream out for death to come, and that God is good and is love.

  9. lol these people who claim to have died are all story tellers , as if they all write scripts for a living. Nobody talks like this but actors and writers. It’s never Joe the plumber that dies for 15 minutes always an elaborate story teller.

  10. correct I had a nde when I was 38 in hospital after giving birth what I saw I will never forget im 81years old now I asked to stay to bring my baby up and every thing I saw my father an angel my guide in the hospital room my surgeon was writing everything down what he Hurd me say, im not afraid to go home now./Marlene bolton uk

  11. What a gem David is.. it is so amazing that he’s encouraging people in hospice (or any time!) to open up about dreams and what they see… so many people don’t want to talk about it bc they will be told it’s just the drugs they’re receiving.

  12. Na super David 😩jetzt haben wir noch mehr Angst von sterben das letzte was ich brauche wenn ich sterbe sind das auf einmal bekannte Gesichter zu sehen 😱😩😩

  13. What a lovely fellow! I really enjoyed listening to David. Kindness & gentleness shines from him. I'm new to Laurie's channel but much prefer her respectful manner to one of the major nde channels I've watched over the past two years. I've really gone off the interview style over there as he keeps interrupting to do stupid things like crack jokes that aren't funny (tho he clearly thinks his own humour is hilarious) & it takes the interviewee off course. It's annoying because they then have to respond to this irrelevance & that forces a new avenue of conversation – they generally don't return to whatever interesting thing they were saying.

  14. Regarding these accounts, there are two elements: one is the factss themselves at the time of death the encounter the words exchanged, etc. the thing seen, etc. and second there is the interpretation the understanding the inference is drawn from the experience, etc., and I wish in these accounts, those two things would be separated properly. The way the story is told here the inferences and the facts are interspersed and I can’t tell which ones which and it’s interesting but not helpful. Too much emphasis on instruction and not enough on raw facts for my taste.

  15. I have no argument with this presentation. However, “this love made human” spoke about hell more than anyone else in the Bible, describing it as a literal place of eternal punishment, "outer darkness," and "unquenchable fire””. This is what the woman was asking about. The interview doesn’t address this issue. And it doesn’t even mention the credible NDE that involve hell. The ideas in the interview are lovely, inspiring, meaningful, and perhaps even finally true, but they’ve been simplified to be cosier than a cup of hot chocolate with a cookie. I don’t myself doubt for a moment that the love of God is everything as I am myself, a person of faith and know God but it doesn’t seem practical to leave out of the equation entirely the wider picture
