As a Hindu. I have lived a decent life, thankful to God for a family ( including my son and grand-daughter in the US) that observes the basic tenets of a decent human being through every act of life, without exception and second thoughts. For a decent human being never really has a choice of action– there is only one choice ie. the right path.
I guess, where decent western society( very good in values & faith} blurs the course of action by offering 2 choices, the right moral one and an easier short cut. For me, the only obvious course of action is the correct one, the honorable one. Of course, this invariably makes life difficult but once you get used to it, it's instinctively the only course of action you see
