When deconstructing our faith in the religion we were associated with, big questions arise from our minds and other people. Some examples of these questions are:
“What happened to you?”
“What do you even believe now?”
“Are you joining a new religion?”
“What are you going to do about church?”
“You still believe in God, right?”
“Why are you leaving the one and only truth?”
“Why are you questioning what your pastor is telling you?”
“Don’t you know that deconstructing your faith is of the devil and will lead you to hell?”
The list goes on…
After deconstruction, reconstruction doesn’t always happen immediately, and that’s okay. There is a critical season between deconstruction and reconstruction that is pivotal in our spiritual journey. During this time, there can be pressure to answer the questions listed above from friends, family members, and even our own minds. However, these answers tend to be rushed, superficial, and disingenuous, given only to appease the ears of the inquisitor.
Instead of entering a season of rest, healing, presence, stillness, curiosity, wonder, newness, rethinking, recovery, and restoration, rooted in being here, Now, in the present moment, we get tugged in all directions except the here and now by those around us who began to worry about the *future* of our soul and how our afterlife destination will be affected by our abandonment of the faith that was once so dear to us.
The religious mind is controlled by shame due to sins of the past or fear due to judgment of the future. It’s never fully in the Now, in the present moment. The present moment is reserved solely for the heart, and this is why religion, for the most part, is a game for the head; a head game centered around dogmatic doctrines, mandatory adherence to creeds, futuristic salvation and judgement, and exclusion and condemnation of the “other” that chooses to believe differently.
However, after a season of deconstruction, healthy reconstruction can only happen in the heart space rather than the headspace. If we try to reconstruct mere from the headspace (past and future focused), the religious mind we were previously programmed with will take over again and want to immediately just to another belief structure, theology, philosophy, dogma, etc., for all the wrong reasons, and chances are, we will end up repeating the same deconstruction cycle all over again.
So, in my latest video, I explain the most important step between deconstructing the dogmatic programming religion and embracing the liberation and healing of heart-centered spirituality.
If you are someone who is experiencing what I have mentioned above, I believe this video will be tremendously refreshing and helpful. I made this video for you! You are not alone.

That's some awesome scenery right there!
Thank you, Logan. My husband and I are on a very similar journey as you. In fact, I am sitting on a large lawn, with the woods behind me, while watching you do the same, with the tall trees behind you. We have both been through deconstruction and are now reconstruction. We’ve done this before (we were in a cult – Scientology – before we got born again). I believe the Spirit is guiding us. I love Thomas Merton’s quote that as we see God in others, they see it in us. It is a beautiful journey and I surrender to it and live in the now, the Spirit is leading me into all truth without all the religiously manufactured boundaries. It is a wonderful journey, and since I don’t believe in hell anymore, I’m not afraid of making “wrong choices” and going there! 😂 He is showing us the path of life, where there is fullness of joy and at his right hand are eternal pleasures. Thank you for your awesome insights! We love you; keep it up!
Christianity has made false claims that only belong to ancient old covenant Israel. Christianity was not mentioned in the New Covenant. Yes, the word Christian was used three times, but nowhere in the Bible did the apostles or the followers refer to themselves as Christian. The word Christian was used by unbelievers in Acts, and Peter called the 10 lost tribes Christians, but he never called himself a Christian. They refer to themselves as believers in Christ – Jew and Gentile believers. However, I do not care what people believe because love is all that matters, our reality. The message of the New Covenant does not mention some, but it is a universal message of ALL because God is ALL and in ALL!
Greetings from Eire trying to make since of everything questioning All my life, thank you,
I'm also a mystic,
I think religion just means community, and thought control is evil, there are positive aspects to community but it's all politics,
And gets negative because its about people and people are complicated
But spirituality usually means they're superstitious and have a lot of ocd reptilian ritual behaviors
Not that they felt the mystical oneness as described best by plotinus, which actually creates a cynicism of ritual
So i'm not religious or spiritual I'm a mystic & a metaphysicist and i'm pro community,

The good ol’ what do you believe in question? For me the best analogy goes something like “ I set off in search of god with my torch, I looked in every nook and cranny, travelled the world, searched far and wide to no avail. There was frustration. When I came to the realisation that the torch was simply illuminating or shedding light upon the things that I had perceived to be true was the game changer. A classic case of wherever I go, there I am. Then comes a knowing that there is no believing in something, because that something is twice removed and is a false idol. So to believe in god is to believe in a false idol. One must believe as god and inherently become one with the torch or the light becoming aware of one’s creation. That is why dogmatic religious structures have created a devil or Satan because they do not wish to acknowledge that they create, go about creating on autopilot and then blame things on externalities. So there you have the creation of Satan in order to blame something unlike god. Which is the dualistic mind. Churches are filled with hearer’s of the word when there is such a need for doer’s of the word which will bring about change. When one knows they create, and completely know that they are made in their image then the cogs will begin to turn for the collective. We just need more on board coming to this realisation so kudos to you Logan. Hold firm my friend. The last step in acknowledging that I and the source of creation are one is the blasphemous one to the conditioned world. But to the creator that is sheer joy and a welcoming home. Because through that meek one who has cleared away all the untruth, heaven may be restored to its rightful place. ❤️
Deconstructing Christian here who’s found his way out of Eastern Orthodoxy via contemplative prayer. While I agree that religion might not technically be “necessary”, I have to say (as do all traditionalists/perennialists/mystics) that it’s rather dangerous to have no religious affiliation of some kind. Religious structures, while not informative of one’s “status” before God, absolutely help to anchor us so that our practice doesn’t become too isolated and potentially delusional. You can greatly disengage with your particular religion’s control structure without throwing the whole thing out. We need community, particularly in the realm of spirituality. Even if those around us have a more shallow understanding of things it helps to keep us humble, grounded, and provides an opportunity for us exercise love and compassion. Just food for thought.
How do you “see” God in others when their actions and words are not loving?
Be still and know that I AM God, Psalm 46:10
The truth, the word will be written within your heart.
Hebrews 8:10 / 2 Corinthians 3:3
You are the 144,000… a symbolic number and perhaps metaphor for this new change sweeping across this planet. Love is the key.
Truth is within and will be revealed when we are ready to see it and perceive it. Our purpose here is to remember who we truly are. The challenges we face help us to realize this truth. Thank you for being a beacon of truth and love!
So good!! So timely! Thank you Logan
Love you Logan❤
This is the problem of religion. It gives you a set of things that you have to believe in.
Religion is based on somebody else's experience.
Spirituality is based on things that you know, based on your own experience.
"Seeing God in everyone"…you just blew my mind away! Thanks! 👍👍👍
Love that you are standing up and saying this! Lots of truth bombs in here! 💥
Kinda seems like you’re judgemental to people who make judgments. Why can’t you just accept them, & their judgments?
My answer to the ultra religious zealot Christian is simple. GO READ THE BOOK OF JAMES EVERY DAY FOR ONE WEEK. This method put me on the fast track to spiritual power like nothing else i had done in 30 years. This book puts conviction right where it belongs, cutting through all the dogma crap that so many are into. IMO God is seeking true believers who realize Him in truth, and in order to do that you must overcome the indoctrinations of the Church, which are man-made for purposes of establishing political supremacy, and serve mainly nowadays to enable people to judge each other based on poorly understood scripture texts. The truly spiritual DO NOT JUDGE, they accept people AS THEY ARE. The religious are far too often guilty of thinking they know “the truth” better than others, this DELUSIONAL. I know this because THAT USED TO BE ME BEFORE I TRULY SURRENDERED TO THE SPIRIT OF GOD. Peace and blessing to you all!
I left Churchianity and I also studied all the world's religions. But I still believe in Jesus Christ and He said He is the way to God. He taught love, forgiveness, kindness to others. I also think that when he sends the Spirit to you, you are enabled to change from the heart out – human beings seem not to get it right on their own. And I'm sorry but there are evil forces against us – Jesus said that satan is the god of this world. New agers seem to deny that part of it
I love the encouragement! Thank you
Even being "spiritual" can be false and as idolatrous as churchianity. Aborigines here in Australia consider themselves as "spiritual" (most of it is rooted in superstition), and New Age philosophies and its adherents are considered as spiritual but are false and misleading. "Being in the present moment" reminds me of what Colossians 2:8 warns us of. Being in the present moment sounds like wisdom but is false wisdom. We are to be looking unto him who is invisible and setting our affections on things above not on things of the earth. The old model of religion is to be discarded but beware of philosophies.
Absolutely agree, you have no duty to explain what you believe or not. It’s between you and God and nobody elses business.
Don’t mind the loveful Christian haters, they are mostly just pharisees, scribes brainwashed into their darkness of selfrightousness. Jesus was clear about these.
This is exactly what I needed right now. I just left Christianity and have been feeling like a lost soul trying to attach to a new belief. Thank you for the reminder to let it naturally unfold 🦋
There is a direct document that is given by Jesus that will tell you exactly what to do to undo,….it has little to do with doing,… your being will tell you ,…first ask Holy Spirit,… and once the believes are released you can allow the heart (not the idea in your head what heart it,… but allow the heart to speak
Logan, as someone who has encouraged many people to reexamine what they believe and have always been taught, I can sympathize with what you have been doing here. I have certainly been in that place where I have found that things I had surely believed were not actually consistent and true. I also have had to rest in that place where I realized that I now knew what wasn't true, but was still not sure what was. I didn't think that was a bad place to be either. When one leaves one error, it does not do one any good to jump right into another one, just to have something to believe.
I have also experienced the "looks of horror" from people when you tell them what you no longer believe. As my ministry's founder once said, some people view any wrong done to one who disagrees with him doctrinally as being the highest form of good. This is not good, but when one leaves traditionalism to take a heretical path, one can expect such responses from some people. It does not make it easy to endure, however.
The founder of our ministry, Mr. Otis Q. Sellers, went through the transition from a fundamentalist to a heretic, so he too was sympathetic to those who were finding that the churches were not really telling them the truth, and who no longer felt that they were worth following. He wrote an article called "Those Turning from the Church Should Turn to Jesus Christ," which was #158 of his series of short articles he called "Seed and Bread." It is found on this page as #158: https://www.seedandbread.org/written-studies-otis-q-sellers/sb148-196/ You might find it worth reading.
Thanks for your time.
Nathan
The whole point of leaving a belief system behind is not to have one. Looking for a different one means you were not ready to live on your own to begin with, and the whole deconstruction was just a big misunderstanding. There are no gurus and no divine.
