  1. watching people "wait" to die did it for me…my aunt waited WEEKS with zero urine output to see my other aunt. the dying aunt wasn't conscious, but she waited.
found out, the dying aunt had been the other's aunt's babysitter…none of us knew, the other siblings were gone and had never mentioned it.

  2. My grandma had 0 kidney function but chose to go off dialysis at 94, she was done. We were told she had hours or days, she lived another month in hospice. On her last day, she said goodbye to my parents, her late life caretaker, and her best friend of 76 years, and then passed in her sleep. There’s something they can sense that we’ll never understand until we’re there.

  3. How did that help you believe in the afterlife? That was only about the before life. He had some unfinished thoughts that kept him holding on. He resolved them and was able to let go and pass. How exactly does this equate to an afterlife?

  4. my grandma was on her deathbed the week of my 14th birthday… but on the day of my birthday she was seizing all day. we knew we only had a couple of hours.

about an hour before she died she suddenly remembered who all of us were, when she hadn’t known that for years prior. she called me by my name, told me she loved me, then shortly after she forgot again due to another seizure. she was on hospice so she was as comfortable as possible.

she died only 4 minutes after my birthday was over, so 12:04am the next day. we had told her it was my birthday… it’s like she waited

  5. I like to think there is. Mom passed in June 2025; it was sudden (at least as sudden as it can be for old age – she was 87). She got up to the bathroom and came back to bed. She asked Dad to get her an aspirin and when he came back, she was gone. I now understand why people are taken in by charlatans and those who say they can talk to "the beyond". I really want to talk to Mom and say goodbye.
