Knowledge! I wish I could meet him in person.
I grew up in a Methodist church in Harlem and I remember the day I saw the good ol" Rev standing in the center of the hallway removing a silver flask from his inner pocket, take 2 swigs, place the cap back on and turn around to see my little 6 or 7 yr old face standing there watching him. It was enough I didn't understand the teachings and that you had to have a full length mink; no matter the coloure to be down yet to see this just sealed my cap in thought. My maternal grandma was devoted to this church and I really couldn't understand why. In her passing, this church which held more than 300 seated held less than 30 people during her services. Blew me away. I've walked with this all my life thinking I'd not given church a chance. I gave it a chance, it still hasn't worked.
The question which comes to mind now is were my Ancestors reaching out to me then and all I can say is yes,…they were …
Churches have been the most destructive force to Black folk in america and the people who've learned the truth and furthered the lie have only perpetuated the illness to that destructiveness….

Now I know why in 2007 I dreamt of myself sitting in front of a mountain 🏔 I looked sad- but then a black woman came up to me touched my shoulder and said it will all be okay.
I’m a mother of 5 children- my three older children are mixed. My ex was half black and white. He was raised in a white family that taught blacks were cursed by the sun- together we were Christians but he got frustrated with the church and left – now all these years later I sent him these videos to see the true truth. I hope he watches them.
